Interview

A good preparation for the interview helps you to face the interview with confidence. It is therefore important to do some research about the company by reading the annual reports, newspaper and magazine articles and get informed. Fill all the questions in the applications if any, without leaving anything blank. If any question does not apply, you can say “not applicable”. Dress in good taste to get the first impression good. Keep the dress and accessories for the interview ready the night before to avoid unnecessary stress. Arrive early at the venue. This will give you sufficient time to gain your composure and mentally prepare yourself for the interview.Inform the receptionist your name and the purpose of your visit. In case you are delayed for the interview, notify the interviewer immediately. This may help in rescheduling your interview. Project a positive attitude with a smile and make eye contact with the interviewers. You can greet them using their last name. It is a good idea to check with the receptionist the correct pronunciation of the names before the interview. Your answers should be brief but complete. Do not use negative comments about the previous employer. Express your intention to work for the company strongly throughout the interview. Be enthusiastic and demonstrate it by suitable comments and body language. Let the interviewer lead the conversation while stressing your achievements and skills. Do not show aggression or lack of confidence. Never emphasize on salary and benefits. Ask questions about the job being offered and explain how you can contribute to the company. Express your desire to work for the company more than once. Your answers to the questions must be conveying how you consider yourself most suitable to the job and what you can contribute. There is a list of possible questions and preparing well for these is a sure way to breeze through the interview process. Tell us about yourself.Is there any particular quality or skill you have that should lead us decide in your favor?What factors have contributed to your success in your present position? You should ask questions like what are the challenges in this position and what would I be expected to accomplish. At the end of the interview don’t forget to thank the interviewers with a firm handshake. Leave by gently closing the door.
