Dyslexia:

Reading and learning are the two things that determine the success of a child during his school career. First he learns to read. Then he reads to learn. The Audiblox Dysgraphia Program is recommended for children who suffer from poor handwriting skills — also known as dysgraphia. Dysgraphia often co-exists with dyslexia. This program addresses both problems simultaneously.
The story of Sonja, who soon after birth contracted meningitis and encephalitis, causing severe brain damage. Doctors said she would never read nor write. That was until her parents heard about Dr. Jan Strydom's Audiblox program, and Sonja learned to read in 60 days.
The training and resources will enable course participants to have a broad overview of the nature of dyslexia. It will enable participants working in support roles to offer practical tutoring support and intervention to students with dyslexia. This course offered is run over one year. Admission to the course is twice annually: 1st November and 1st May. The aims of the course are to: To give learners an understanding of dyslexia .To give learners an understanding of the underpinning skills for successful literacy acquisition .To give learners an insight into how their own language is structured .To provide learners with strategies to help dyslexic students and other literacy strugglers with literacy skills .To enable learners to understand and use a structured programme with a student, in a tutoring role .To enable learners to understand the behavioral and self esteem issues surrounding dyslexia and literacy failure .To equip learners to aid a struggling student with personal organization .
